Give the Gift of Curling

THE CHRISTMAS SEASON is gaining momentum and as decorations go up and Christmas lights shine there are some things happening at the club that could help you with gift ideas.

“GIVE THE GIFT OF CURLING” is a Port Elgin Curling Club initiative being introduced to promote the game of curling and Learn to Curl.  Our Learn to Curl program “sold out” this fall with 20 new curlers participating every Tuesday on the ice.  A significant amount of interest continues and there are a number of people on a waiting list.  As a result, a second, condensed Learn to Curl program will be held in January on two consecutive Saturdays, January 9th and 16th.  Each Saturday session will be three hours long and participants will be able to join a league when the sessions conclude.  Cost for the Learn to Curl après Christmas is $100 and the fee entitles participants to curl in one league for the balance of the season. (Second session at the club starts January 18th).

So…here’s how the promotion works…if you would like to GIVE THE GIFT OF CURLING to someone in your family, a friend or a neighbour, you can purchase a “gift certificate” for $100 and present that as your gift.  You would be giving a useful, healthy and unique gift that could easily become the gift that keeps on giving.  Interested????  Contact Doug Flowers doug@goldline.ca and he will get you set up.

Please note: Some current members have expressed interest in the program and will be joining the after Christmas LEARN TO CURL to freshen up their delivery and other curling skills.

PRO SHOP CHRISTMAS SHOPPING:

Doug Flowers sends along this message:

“The pro shop elves have been hard at work stocking up for Christmas, including a wide variety of equipment and giftware for that special curler on your list. Perhaps your own wish list includes one of those super light brushes.  Is there a stocking that needs to be topped up with curling socks or a new pair of gloves?  Would you like to trim the tree with a curling stone ornament? Next time you are in the club browse our pro shop and if you have Christmas gifts in mind be sure to check out the stocking stuffer specials.”
