WELCOME CURLERS

The curling season has arrived and members will be on the ice Monday as the games begin.  We are very pleased to welcome many new members to our club. Our Learn to Curl program is full and participants have already completed their first week.  Junior Curling is active again this season and that program is full. We are all ready to get out on our new ice surface, meet new members, get reacquainted with former members and have a fun time while we enjoy the great game of curling.

COVID PROTOCOL YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • ALL players must show proof of “double” vaccination prior to their first game.
  • Check into the club with your club providedQRL code or sign the check-in sheet upon entering. If you do not have a club QRL code, information will be available about how to get one.
  • Masks must be worn in the club when you are not seated.
  • Masks can be removed on ice. Please maintain proper physical distancing as much as possible.
  • Two sweepers are allowed but not required this season. If there are two sweepers, both sweepers must wear a mask while sweeping. If there is one sweeper, a mask is not required but recommended. Team members can make this decision based on their comfort level of proximity to each other while sweeping.
  • Skips can sweep rocks in the house after they cross the t-line. (No jokes about skips “sweeping” until after the game)
  • Locker rooms remain closed.Come to the club wearing your curling clothes. Change into your curling shoes in the lounge area and please maintain physical distancing.
  • Maximum of 4 people at a table.
  • One volunteer only behind the bar to serve all curlers. If the first bar volunteer has to leave the club, another volunteer can step in as a replacement.
  • Spray and clean tables and chairs when you are leaving.

The COVID pandemic has been an exhaustive experience for all of us.  Let’s hang in there a bit longer. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Our protocols are in place to protect our members and our community.  Let’s remember to enjoy curling and social time with our friends.
